Pennsylvania Lottery's Gus the Groundhog Plays a Miniature C. F. Martin Guitar in a Unique Television Commercial
Nazareth, PA - Since their introduction in January 2010, C. F. Martin & Co.’s Performing Artist Series guitars have achieved tremendous success and popularity both domestically and internationally, and the new GPCPA1 Grand Performance Cutaway model is certainly no exception. In fact, even Gus, the second-most famous groundhog in Pennsylvania, will be playing one in a television commercial! Gus the Groundhog represents the Pennsylvania Lottery to promote instant games to all Pennsylvanians age 18 and over. He has recently formed a rock band to promote the Pennsylvania Lottery’s new “Win for Life” games in a television commercial. The commercial is scheduled to air during the first ten days of May 2010 and beyond.
Since Gus cannot hold a full-sized Martin GPCPA1, the Pennsylvania Lottery commissioned the creation of a Gus-sized version of the GPCPA1.
Pittsburgh-based advertising agency MARC USA created the commercial, which was filmed on April 8 at the Media Theatre in Media, Pennsylvania. An actual GPCPA1 was used to capture the audio portions of the project and four other Martin guitars were used on the set. They included a Martin 16 Series BC-16GTE acoustic bass, a Limited Edition Series 000-18 Marquis Sunburst, an X Series acoustic-electric 000CXEBLACK, and an X Series acoustic-electric DXK2AE.
It seems that everyone, including Gus, is having fun with the newest line of products from C. F. Martin & Co.’s Performing Artist Series. Be sure to get in on the fun and order yours today!
