2nd Annual "Martin on Main" Event a Success
Nazareth, PA - Visitors numbering in the thousands returned for an exciting day of music, artisans, great food, shopping venues and a chance to win a Martin Guitar. The Nazareth Downtown Association, the Nazareth Chamber of Commerce, the Martin Guitar Company and the Unofficial Martin Guitar Forum (UMGF) provided an enhanced experience for the 2nd Annual Martin on Main Street event in Nazareth.
UMGF members provided the musical entertainment and a sound stage was set up in the center circle. There was no shortage of participants in the "open mic" format. Solo performers as well as impromptu groups sang and played their Martin guitars as well as harmonica, mandolin, banjo, bass fiddle and autoharp. The show was headlined by Martin Clinician Kenny Sultan. Kenny's approachable manner and willingness to share his knowledge was extremely well-received by the crowd. Additional smaller acoustic stages lined the entire event area and UMGF members filled each venue with music.
The Bethlehem Brew Works working in conjunction with Martin Guitar created a crisp "Martin Strummin' Summer Blonde" ale for the event (Chris Martin sampled the brew at the event). The Martin Guitar Tent displayed several exquisite custom guitars and one lucky raffle winner walked away with a prototype Martin guitar. Looking forward already towards year three. Tentative date is Saturday, August 7, 2010.
