Frankfurt, Germany - Imagine the most full-service, one-stop music store you've ever visited, blown up to the size of 10 football fields! Every current music industry product is "in stock," "plugged in" and displayed beautifully. The technology is cutting edge. The sales and technical staff are the most informed; the support literature is fully stocked. Hundreds of thousands of products assembled in one setting! Musikmesse Germany is a nirvana for the musician looking for new "tools" to realize his/her own musical vision.
Martin introduced the JDP II model, the second namesake model for spunky Martin clinician Diane Ponzio. Diane is a dynamic singer/songwriter who has been with Martin for many years performing both in the United States and in Europe. Her strong European fan base makes Frankfurt's Musikmesse the perfect venue for the release of her striking 2nd Signature Artist Edition. Along with Diane, Martin Signature Artist Jacques Stotzem and John Goldie performed in our demonstration area.
Chris Martin presented the honorable Karl-Heinrich Hoyer, Mayor of Markneukirchen, Germany, and Heidrun Eichler, Curator for the Markneukirchen Museum of Musical Instruments, with a Martin DX 175th model. Markneukirchen is literally the belly of fine violin makers and not coincidentally, the birthplace of C. F. Martin, Sr.
As usual, Sunday's "public day" brings throngs of enthusiasts to Musikmesse and the Martin booth. This event affords the public a unique opportunity to play all of the new Martin guitar models. Martin's international appeal makes for a very strong exchange of cultural pleasantries.
