Caveman will play a small, intimate set to their hometown crowd in the lobby of Ace Hotel New York on Wednesday, October 3 at 5pm for 5 At 5, our ongoing series of live five-song sets by bands we love, in partnership with Bowery Presents and Martin Guitar.
Caveman might be the quintessential New York rock band. Four out of five members hail from NYC, and the fifth is from upstate. Their lead guitarist, Jimmy Carbonetti, builds the band's guitars by hand in his East Village shop. Their song "My Time" has jangled inside 6,000 yellow cabs as the backing track of the "I Love New York" ad campaign. Their sound is buoyantly infectious "guitar-based pop songs full of subtlety and space and melodies you can carry around in your head," says NPR. Like a regular lunch pail of cadenced ideas, no less. Those are the New York craniums we know.
5 At 5 is up close and personal, free and open to all.
