Anaheim, California - The winter NAMM 2008 presented a perfect venue for C. F. Martin & Company to kick off our 175th Anniversary celebration. We were proud to share this historic milestone with our friends, dealers and business associates. Stay tuned throughout the year for scheduled programs that will continue to connect you to our history.
The Martin booth was very busy the entire show, and the extensive new instrument line-up was well received. To learn more about the 25 new models, please visit the Sounding Board newsletter.
Celebrity power adds tons of excitement to music trade shows, and we had several of our Martin artists on hand. Laurence Juber, Joe Beck and the Charvel Twins dazzled visitors with their virtuosity in what we call "booth demonstrations." Ben Harper was also present in support of the brand new HM Ben Harper Special Edition model, and he was visited by his friends, the Blind Boys. Artist Robert F. Goetzl autographed postcards depicting his 175th Anniversary Celebration artwork. Robert is a cousin of Chris Martin. Several hundred attendees were lucky enough to see and hear Martin Signature Artist John Mayer perform solo renditions of his hit songs on the Acoustic Café stage. Located in the Anaheim Hilton Hotel, the Acoustic Café is a C. F. Martin co-sponsored venue that showcases acoustic artists and music.
