Nashville, TN - The summer NAMM 2008 trade show returned to Nashville, Tennessee, after two years in Austin, Texas. The usual July date was already booked at the Nashville Convention Center, so the show was pushed forward to June, almost a full month earlier than usual.
The Martin booth was busy throughout the entire show and the new guitars were well received. To learn more about the sixteen new models, please visit the Sounding Board newsletter or view New Products.
Visitors to the booth were treated to performances by singer/songwriter Steve Earle playing his new Custom Artist Edition, the M-21 Steve Earle and guitarist extraordinaire Thom Bresch. Thom was in attendance for the introduction of the commemorative Limited Edition model for his father, the D-28M Merle Travis. Artist Tim O'Brien also stopped by for the delivery of his Limited Edition model, the 00-18 Tim O'Brien.
Martin Strings introduced new fluorocarbon ukulele strings (M600) designed to revitalize your ukulele with improved volume and harmonic sustain. Available in July 2008, two string combo packs that include an exclusive 175th Anniversary T-shirt. There is also a sampler 3-pack slated for delivery in October 2008 that includes a free full color bumper sticker.
