Nazareth, PA - Manufacturing a Martin guitar is a collaborative effort that extends well past the walls of the Martin Factory. Reliable vendors and suppliers are integral to our ongoing success and it is our pleasure to host our hard-working business partners. Now in its sixth year, the Martin Suppliers Conference has proven to be an effective forum for celebrating those successes, sharing ideas, identifying business challenges and developing highly effective relationships.
This year's meeting included an open discussion about the economy and in particular rising transportation costs. Several of our most integral transportation companies were invited to share their initiatives undertaken to identify, manage, control and understand rising costs.
Another important theme that was conveyed to the group by Greg Paul, Vice President of Corporate Operations, was social responsibility, a theme that runs very true to the views of C. F. Martin IV. Greg called upon each of our associates to assure the ethical treatment of workers throughout the supply chain.
With the help of all in attendance, we were able to improve the effectiveness of our day spent together. Once again we gained reassurances that the chain is strong and the people and companies we depend on so heavily have our best interest at heart.
The Martin Band performed as we culminated our day with both a social hour and a catered dinner served in the Visitors Center.
