Martin Guitar Teams Up with CountryStar and Brand Ambassador Hunter Hayes

NAZARETH, PA – June 13, 2013 - C.F. Martin & Co. is teaming up with multiple Grammy nominated artist and brand ambassador, Hunter Hayes, on a new Facebook contest this summer called ENCORE.  One lucky Grand Prize winner will receive a new Martin OM-42 guitar, the same model that Hunter plays, which values at $6,799, and six months of Martin SP Lifespan strings. The contest launches June 10th-September 3rd and fans can enter by 'liking' the Martin Facebook page, Hunter's Facebook and Martin Strings Facebook  Once fans can enter, they can earn up to 19 more entries by inviting their friends to enter as well. The winner will be announced via Facebook in October.

More than 30,000 fundraisers are expected to come together over the weekend to raise more than $1 million for The Life is good Kids Foundation. Once again, Life is good has partnered with Superfly Presents, nationally-recognized producers of the iconic Bonnaroo and Outside Lands festivals, to assure a first-class festival experience for all ages.


CEO & Chairman Chris Martin IV Joins NAMM Executive Committee

Carlsbad, CA, (July 13, 2013) — The NAMM executive committee enjoys a smooth succession welcoming a new member, honoring its outgoing chairman, and announcing new appointments during Summer NAMM. The announcements were made Saturday, July 13 during the annual summer board meeting held in Nashville.

Larry Morton, previously NAMM’s vice chairman, will move into a new role as chairman of NAMM’s board of directors. Morton, president of Hal Leonard Corporation, served on NAMM’s board from 1999 to 2002. He’s accomplished in diverse aspects of the music-industry, having worked in many aspects of the business over the last 28 years – sales, marketing, retail and manufacturing. In addition, Morton has performed, written and taught music.

“I am honored and humbled to be elected chairman of the NAMM board and feel a special responsibility in doing all that I can to support NAMM's mission of creating music makers,” Morton said.

Morton then warmly welcomed Martin to the executive committee, “Through the multi-generation legacy of Martin Guitars, Chris brings a unique perspective of running a family business, much like many of our retailer members, along with the point of view of a global instrument manufacturer and supplier. Chris also has a tremendous amount of experience as an active advocate and supporter of music through his other service activities.”

Chris Martin is the executive committee’s incoming secretary. Martin, current chairman and CEO of C.F. Martin & Co. previously served on the NAMM board of directors from 2000 to 2003. “I am proud and honored to be selected to join the NAMM executive committee,” Martin said. “As the sixth-generation owner-operator of my family business, I look forward to helping our industry grow and prosper.”

C.F. Martin & Co. teams up with Award-winning Artist Ed Sheeran on Signature Edition

NAZARETH, PA – July 8, 2013 – C.F. Martin & Co. is gearing up for an exciting summer music season with the announcement of their newest Artist Signature Edition from the Custom Shop - the LX1E Ed Sheeran Signature Edition!

Designed in collaboration with the Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum singer-songwriter, and brand ambassador, the LX1E Ed Sheeran Signature Edition features Ed's personal artistic details on the headstock, including his signature fluorescent orange "+" plus sign and "est. 1991", which represents the name of his platinum-selling album and year Sheeran was born respectively .  Additionally, the "+" plus sign logo is laser-etched on the solid sapele top, which signifies the title of his platinum-selling debut album. 100% of Ed's royalties will be donated to the East Anglia's Children's Hospices ( ), a UK-based charity Sheeran supports and is passionate about.  The organization, whose Royal Patron is The Duchess of Cambridge, supports families and cares for young children and young people with life-threatening conditions and provides services across several UK counties, including Suffolk, where Sheeran was raised.


LX1E Ed Sheeran Signature Edition wins NAMM's Best in Show Award

The last day of 2013 Summer NAMM wrapped up with "Best in Show," a roundup of the best products and services at the show. Music Inc. Publisher Frank Alkyer hosted the NAMM U Breakfast Session, and panelists included six music retail gear experts: Mike Guillot of Mississippi Music, Brad Boynton of Rhythm Traders, Myrna Sislen of Middle C Music, Tim Pratt of Dietze Music, Paul Decker of Music Villa and Donovan Bankhead of Springfield Music.

Each panelist selected their picks in four categories, including Best Add-on or Accessory, Gotta Stock It, Companies to Watch and Best in Show.
