All-New Modern Deluxe Models for 2022
We are proud to introduce seven new models to our popular Modern Deluxe Series. But before we show you these great new guitars, let's look at what makes the Modern Deluxe Series stand apart from the rest of the Martin product line. Launched in 2019, the Modern Deluxe Series pairs some of Martin’s most popular vintage appointments with state-of-the-art technology. The results are stunning, and the series is perfect for discerning players who appreciate the look, tone, and construction of vintage Martin guitars and want modern features for easy playability.
But don’t take our word for it. Check out this feedback from a few industry experts.
“This is shockingly light … and light acoustic guitars are more resonant … I love that you’ve got the classic ingredients, but you’ve also got some modern jazz in there that makes it … like an old friend, right out of the gate … really comfortable all the way up the neck … intonation seems dead on. So, good on ya, Martin, for taking a classic design and putting some modern touches on it and not losing the vibe of what you had. Because sometimes you get sort of a subtraction by addition, but I don’t think that’s the case here. I think they actually kinda nailed it.” – Premier Guitar Magazine
“Martin’s mission to evolve its heritage by enhancing the range in the way we’ve seen here is to be applauded. We can imagine that all the newfangled ideas that are going on with the Modern Deluxes–both seen and unseen–may be in conflict with comfort-zone sensibilities of the traditionalists, but to those fine gentlefolk, we would wholeheartedly recommend auditioning one. The difference you find here is real, with additional volume, enhanced projection, greater sustain–and that’s on top of the renowned Martin tone. You really can’t go wrong.” - Guitarist Magazine
“The sound is incredibly crisp and warm. Part of what contributes to the guitar’s natural volume is a rich midrange to low end, especially noticeable when I play open chords—it’s a steamroller! Despite its classy trim appearance, the guitar feels like a wild animal with unbridled energy when you’re playing it. Strike the sixth string—especially in dropped-D tuning—and it carries so impressively, even as you continue to pick the other strings. You almost have to mute it manually to get it quiet.” - Acoustic Guitar Magazine
Now let’s take a look at the new models that have joined the Modern Deluxe Series for 2022.
000-18 | $3,599
Are you a fan of mahogany? If you are, this auditorium-style 000-18 is the Modern Deluxe model for you. It features mahogany back and sides with East Indian rosewood binding, stylish gold frets, gold open-gear tuners, and a unique 1930s style script logo inlaid in pearl on the headstock.
00-28 | $4,199
If you love the sleek curves and thinner body of a grand concert-style guitar and prefer the brighter sound and articulate attack of a 14-fret guitar, the 00-28 Modern Deluxe is the model you should check out.
0012-28 | $4,399
The 0012-28 is here for those of you who love the grand concert style but prefer the warmer, fuller sound of a 12-fret acoustic. This model also has a slightly wider neck.
012-28 | $4,399
The 012-28 concert-style model is the smallest body size in the series, and it’s also a 12-fret, so you’ll still get plenty of warmth and fullness with this model. It is perfect for those that want a super comfortable guitar to hold and one that gives you the freedom to move, no matter your size.
D-42 | $7,199
The D-42 Modern Deluxe is the entry into the more ornate models in this series, only bested by the D-45. This beauty includes European flamed maple binding on the body, fingerboard, and headplate, stylish gold frets, gold open-gear tuners, and a classy torch logo inlaid in pearl on the headstock.
000-42 | $7,199
The 000-42 Modern Deluxe is another entry into the more ornate models in this series, but this time in the popular auditorium style. Like its Dreadnought sibling, it includes European flamed maple binding on the body, fingerboard, and headplate, stylish gold frets, gold open-gear tuners, and a classy torch logo inlaid in pearl on the headstock.
D-45 | $10,499
The D-45 Modern Deluxe is a step up in the line from the D-42. The two models look the same from the front, and the D-45 includes all the great features of the D-42 but adds pearl inlay around the headstock and around the back and sides of the body.
