The 00DB Jeff Tweedy returns—joined by a brand-new Junior model for players of all levels.
Jeff Tweedy has a knack for saying a lot with just a few words—and the same could be said of the guitars he plays. Honest, soulful, and thoughtfully crafted, his music has always been grounded in songwriting first. And now, fans have two new ways to connect with that sound.
Launching today, October 9, Martin is proud to bring back the 00DB Jeff Tweedy, and to introduce the all-new 000 Jr E Jeff Tweedy. Both are signature models designed in collaboration with the GRAMMY®-winning Wilco frontman—one a reissue of a beloved favorite, the other a more compact, full-scale companion for players just starting out or looking for something a bit more accessible.
“My desire is to be a really good songwriter,” Jeff says. “And so that’s my primary focus when I listen to a guitar—wanting to hear the songs in it, wanting it to respond to me in a way that feels like my voice, a part of my voice.”
The 00DB Jeff Tweedy: Warm, Honest, and Built for Songwriters
Originally introduced in 2012, the 00DB Jeff Tweedy quickly earned a reputation among players for its clear voice and songwriting-friendly feel. Now, more than a decade later, it's back—and better than ever.
With its deeper 00 body, long 25.4" scale length, and all-solid FSC®-certified mahogany construction, this model offers rich low-end warmth, dry midrange punch, and sparkling clarity—perfect for both fingerpicking and strumming. Scalloped European spruce X-bracing adds responsiveness, while the custom Tweedy Burst finish and Foden-style inlays give it a personality all its own.
“The thing I love about my guitar, the deep-body element of it, is that it has a warmth for a smaller body guitar… it’s somewhere between a Dreadnought and an 0-style guitar,” Jeff explains.
Finished with faux tortoise binding, a signed label, and a vintage-style Modified V neck, the 00DB Tweedy is a deeply personal guitar for anyone looking to write their next great song—or simply enjoy playing an instrument that won’t get in the way of creativity.

The 000 Jr E Jeff Tweedy: More Accessible. Same Spirit.
Inspired by Jeff’s main model but designed to be more compact and affordable, the 000 Jr E Jeff Tweedy brings his signature look and sound to the Junior Series for the first time. With a compact 000 body shape and full 24.9" scale length, it delivers full-size tone in a smaller, travel-friendly package.
Made with FSC®-certified solid sapele and a satin Tweedy Burst top, it captures Jeff’s understated style while offering clear highs, focused mids, and warm lows. The Performing Artist neck and high-performance taper make it comfortable to play, even for beginners or those with smaller hands, while Martin E1 electronics, featuring a built-in tuner, make it stage-ready from the start.
“It really meant a lot to me to get to offer a guitar with my name on it,” Jeff says. “But more importantly, something that I think is a good instrument for someone to start out on—or carry around because it’s smaller.
“Hopefully… it becomes a part of their daily habit of making some music. One of the sweetest things you can do with your time is make something that wasn’t there.”
A Voice That Doesn’t Get in the Way
Both models trace back to a single guitar that changed everything for Jeff.
“I bought a 0-18 in San Francisco, and I wrote all the songs for Mermaid Avenue [a 1998 album of previously unheard Woody Guthrie lyrics set to music by Billy Bragg and Wilco] on that guitar. That guitar just became basically part of my writing voice… it’s the main acoustic I’ve had my whole life.”

A New Record, A New Tour, A New Day
Jeff’s new triple solo album, Twilight Override, dropped on September 26, and he’s just kicked off a U.S. solo tour that will continue through the fall and pick back up in Europe early next year. It’s a rare chance to see one of music’s most respected songwriters—and his Martins—up close.
“I can’t sing and be afraid at the same time,” Jeff wrote about Twilight Override ahead of his tour. “And dreaming at twilight isn’t forbidden. Not quite a daydream and nowhere near a nightmare. Twilight dreaming is a lovely workaround.”
