Introducing the GPCE & GPE Inception™ Maple

Martin Guitar is unlocking the sonic beauty of sustainable tonewoods with the GPCE and GPE Inception Maple. Combining nature and technology, these groundbreaking acoustic-electrics feature skeletonized scalloped bracing and sonic channels for increased resonance and superior tone—technology purpose-built for the tonewoods used in these models. It’s a testament to our relentless pursuit of innovation, taking the art of guitar manufacturing to new heights and new sounds.

GPCE Inception Maple:

An Inside Look

Sound Test Results

During the final design phase of the original GPCE Inception, we measured the guitar’s frequency response using spectral analysis to better understand how its unique features affect tone. The study proved that skeletonized bracing increases sustain, while the sonic channeling boosts amplitude. Typically, increasing one comes at the expense of the other—but not here. While the new GPCE and GPE Inception models introduce aesthetic upgrades like a gloss finish, the original analysis still holds: these guitars are engineered to enhance both sustain and amplitude.

Innovation In Every Note

The skeletonized bracing and sonic channels inside the GPCE and GPE Inception work together to increase sustain and amplitude, optimize airflow, and reduce mass without sacrificing structural support—making maple sound better than it ever has. Both models are crafted from a combination of sustainable tonewoods, including an FSC®-certified European spruce top, maple sides, and an eye-catching three-piece back of maple and black walnut. The result is a clear, balanced, and highly projective tone.
