1T IZ Tenor Uke
1T IZ Tenor Uke
Created in tribute to legendary Hawaiian artist Israel Kamakawiwo‘ole—known to the world as “IZ”—the 1T IZ Tenor Uke is a beautifully crafted instrument that honors his enduring legacy. Built with a body of genuine quilted mahogany, it delivers a warm, resonant tone with the depth and soul worthy of the man whose music touched millions. A rosewood fingerboard and bridge add richness and sustain, while faux tortoise binding and a multi-stripe rosette provide subtle vintage flair. The East Indian rosewood headplate features a koa inlay of “IZ” and a hibiscus flower rendered in pink awabi pearl—a nod to both his name and his island roots. This tenor-sized uke features an applied dovetail neck joint for strength and stability, a genuine mahogany neck with a satin finish, and PegHed black planetary tuners for smooth, reliable tuning. It includes a softshell case and two special paper labels: one featuring a photo of IZ and another signed and numbered by his widow, Marlene Kamakawiwo‘ole. The 1T IZ isn’t just an instrument—it’s a tribute to the voice, spirit, and cultural legacy of Hawaii’s most iconic ukulele ambassador.
