At the Martin Factory in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, we have found dozens of ways to save energy, reduce waste, and protect the environment.
OUR COMMITMENT TO THE ENVIRONMENT
Martin Guitar is committed to corporate responsibility and environmental stewardship. To support this commitment, Martin chose the Rainforest Alliance as their certifying body to achieve Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) Chain-of-Custody certification.
THE FUTURE OF WOOD
Mike Dickinson spends roughly 12 weeks of the year on the road, which is at least part of the future he imagined for himself while growing up in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, just two blocks from the Martin Guitar headquarters.
A JOURNEY THAT MATTERS: THE YEAR OF THE FROG WITH MARTIN GUITAR & THE RAINFOREST ALLIANCE
The Rainforest Alliance was founded 1987 to conserve biodiversity and ensure sustainable livelihoods by reshaping land-use practices and business practices on a global scale.
IN SEARCH OF MADAGASCAR ROSEWOOD & OPTIMISM
Rosewood has long been a choice of hardwood used by both guitar builders and high-end furniture makers. Prized for its rich, reddish-brown color and sturdy, close-grained timber, it fulfills two design ambitions few other tonal hardwoods can achieve: strength and beauty.
To help end the worst poaching crisis in history, Martin Guitar and The Nature Conservancy launched a partnership today to ramp up efforts in Africa and China through #SaveElephants, a campaign to increase resources for elephant protection, add to growing global pressure on leaders, and to provide concerned individuals with opportunities to take action.
CHILLER & CENTRAL BOILER PLANT PROJECT
Martin received a 2017 Better Project Award from the U. S. DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY for the completion of a Chiller/Boiler Plant Project that reduced energy consumption by 40%.
