Ben Howard is one of Britain’s most successful singer-songwriters in years. His debut album in 2011, the one million selling Mercury Prize nominated Every Kingdom, introduced an incredibly gifted and intricate young guitarist whose interest in the work of John Martyn helped to shape Ben’s ear for melody and warm campfire folk. It helped deliver him two Brit Awards.
The follow-up, 2014’s I Forget Where We Were, was a different beast altogether. A dark, brooding, and electric affair it played with mood and atmosphere and delivered Ben his first number one album, taking him right across the globe and playing to bigger sold-out venues.
In 2018, Ben returned from a four year absence with Noonday Dream, a psychedelic opus of a record that fizzed and pulsed in more directions than the listener of Every Kingdom could ever have felt possible, and rightly garnered Ben his most critically acclaimed record to date.
