C.F. Martin & Co. Upgrades With State of the Art HVAC System at its Nazareth, Pennsylvania Based Facility

As part of C.F. Martin & Co., Inc.’s (Martin Guitar) on-going commitment to providing the best fretted instruments to its worldwide consumer base, the Nazareth, PA based manufacturer has undergone a state of the art upgrade with the installation of a new HVAC system.

Working with Accuspec, Inc., Martin upgraded its current Direct Expansion HVAC Systems with a Central Chiller/Boiler Plant, which significantly increases efficiency, lower maintenance, and provides a heightened level of control of relative humidity throughout the facility. Additionally, this infrastructure upgrade supports Martin’s longstanding commitment to the environment by reducing the manufacturer’s carbon footprint by an additional 8k tons. “To be able to provide the critically consistent environment in which the world’s finest acoustic guitars are built by our unparalleled team of craftspeople and to do so in a way that dramatically reduces our energy consumption means we’re doing the right things on multiple levels.” says Greg Paul Martin’s Chief Technology Officer.

“The Facilities Team has done a really good job maintaining the environment for building Martin guitars with commercial air conditioning for the past 20 years, says Fred Everett, Director Manufacturing Support Services. “With these infrastructure upgrades, we’re guaranteed to manage relative humidity even better while significantly reducing natural gas and electricity usage.  This investment is a testament of how seriously our CEO and Board of Directors feel about the quality that goes into each part, sub-assembly and finished instrument.”

The proper care of your Martin guitar remains a top priority and Martin maintains its factory at constant temperature and humidity to ensure every instrument that leaves the factory is in the best condition. Rapid changes in local humidity occur worldwide and maintaining proper humidity levels for your valued Martin guitar is important.  You can learn more about proper humidification in Martin’s Care and Feeding Guide that comes with every Martin guitar and you can also download it https://www.martinguitar.com/customer-service/guitar-care/care-and-feeding-guide/.
